Mitosis

Checkpoint cross talk
Condensins
SMC proteins
Structural Maintenance of Chromosomes (SMC) complexes (eg. cohesin, condensin) regulate proper chromosome structure and dynamics during the cell cycle in both eukaryotes and prokaryotes. During mitosis, condensins co-localize with topoisomerase II in punctate structures along the longitudinal core of chromatids, called the chromosome axis.
Condensin inactivation results in chromosomal morphological aberrations, and segregation defects during anaphase.
