Sf-9 Co-IP
Recombinant baculovirus genomes (bacmids) are used to infect Sf-9 insect cells for the purpose of recombinant protein expression and purification. In the absence of protein purification, the expressed recombinant proteins can still be used for protein-protein or protein-DNA interaction studies. Instead of using a population of purified protein, the expressed protein remains within the "soup" of total Sf-9 cell lysate. Using the appropriate pulldown technique, Sf-9 cell lysate containing the baculovirus-expressed protein serves sufficient as a protein source for the assay.
